THE BiRTH OF FREEDOM TO ROAM ADVENTURES

The idea of Freedom To Roam Adventures was born way back – more than 6 years ago. Sadly it has taken those 6 years for the idea to finally come to fruition. To give in order to get is the underlying principle – we give you – one of only 16 guests – a great and personal first-hand experience. and in return we factor in a donation to cause (tax deductible, in some cases).

The Kariega Foundation in Africa

Our 30-year experience of living in the wilds of Africa has certainly been both a learning curve that we have relished: it has also taught us a great deal. The importance of saving current wild spaces, and the expansion of wild places along with all that lives on them is our prime aim.

In Africa, it is The Kariega Foundation that we support. Land expansion and carefully managed projects, that include the local community, are vital to this endeavour. Increasing the extending of wild places for the betterment of wildlife in general, and helping specifically endangered species such as white and black rhino. Both are vital for the survival of our planet.

Guests from UK, Switzerland, USA and Uganda joined us riding mountain bikes, or enjoyed walks on the wild side, within Kariega Game Reserve. We had the exclusive use of three of the magnificent lodges, – all very different and all fabulous: great food, guides, great bike trails, a huge variety of animals and birds, enjoying the wonderful wild countryside.
